Day four....a little bit of a cheat (but an ok one I think?)

Day four....a 5am start and a day in London hosting our Love Food Hate Waste partner event - the first we've ever done.
Dry toast was not the most thrilling start to the day but the day itself has been brilliant - no time to obsess about coffee and cheese (beleive me that was happening last night!)
We had a range of retailers, businesses, membership organisations, community groups and local authorities all coming together to share their experiences of promoting Love Food Hate Waste and the benefits of working together to help everyone waste less food. And there will be a short video coming soon which we'll have on our partners site
We had speakers from Asda, the WI, Brighton and Hove Food Partnership, FSA, My Family Club, Foodcycle, Worcestershire County Council, Let's Get Cooking, Shropshire County Council, Garden Organic and touchwood training - inspiring speakers! And the venue provided by the GLA which was wonderful.
So.....the little cheat? Well I couldn't bring my own lunch today so had the lunch provided. The reason it's ok? Because all the veg was donated by Fareshare, a wonderful organisation which redistributes food which would otherwise go to waste. We had a fantastic soup (cooked by the GLA) and saved some great veg from going to waste at the same time.
So I do feel guilty for not eating from the £5 budget but I think this was ok....?
Tonight is another jacket potato and beans but I'm on the home straight. I am so pleased I signed up to help Live Below the Line - I've become a bit of a one topic woman about what I've learnt and the small insight I've gained.
Food really does only have one aim in life and that's to be eaten - so whatever food we buy we should make sure that none goes to waste - for great tips, ideas and recipes to make the most of your food explore the website and see what you can do today.
Join me tomorrow for the final update on the challenge and keep reading each week to see what's new in my world of Love Food Hate Waste
